Both Les and Pauline were a great help especially during my impressionable teenage years 1965 to 67. I would spend almost fortnightly, weekends with them at their bungalow at The Grove. On Sunday mornings I would go with Les up to Old Dean Gospel Hall to help him with the Sunday school. Other times I would help him with the garden and creosote his shed etc. Fun was had looking for slow worms in the longer grass at the bottom of the garden, CRICKET was a major interest between us: playing on the green, attending Surreys matches and talking about their great players of the 60's, Peter May, Ken Barrington, Mickey Stewart and John Edrich etc. I very much appreciate the spiritual help Les was to me after I became a Christian in March 1965.
